From March 31 to April 4, 2025, the third Solar Village was successfully completed at our partner school, Valmieras tehnikums in Latvia. The activity brought together students and mentors from Latvia, Serbia, and a newly joined team from Italy, working hand in hand to achieve the goals of this innovative international project.

Prior to the arrival of the partner schools, Valmieras tehnikums had already prepared 12 modular cubes in accordance with project specifications. One of the main challenges was finding the optimal layout for the village. Thanks to the guidance of the project’s conceptual leader, Mr. Marko Novak, an ideal solution was found within the school premises.

The Serbian team supported the implementation by delivering a comprehensive presentation on their experience with constructing a solar village, which greatly contributed to the planning and execution of the work in Latvia. Together with their teacher, Danijel Mandić, the teams addressed and overcame all the technical and logistical challenges that arose during the activity.

During the same period, students from Ukraine were also visiting Valmieras tehnikums as part of an exchange program. They showed great interest in the concept and progress of the Solar Village and followed the implementation closely.

With this phase of the project now successfully completed, the Valmieras team is ready to bring their knowledge and experience to Bursa, Turkey, where the next chapter of the Solar Village project will take place at Cavit Çağlar Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi.
