March 2026, a delegation from the Mechanical Engineering School of the Ptuj School Centre visited the Municipality of Ptuj, where we presented the project <strong data-start=\"247\" data-end=\"264\">Solar Village<\/strong>, which focuses on researching passive methods of temperature regulation in buildings.<\/p><p data-start=\"75\" data-end=\"350\">\u00a0<\/p><p data-start=\"352\" data-end=\"554\">The delegation consisted of students <strong data-start=\"389\" data-end=\"400\">Jan \u010ceh<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"405\" data-end=\"421\">Simon Zamuda<\/strong>, mentor <strong data-start=\"430\" data-end=\"449\">Danijel Bedenik<\/strong>, coordinator <strong data-start=\"463\" data-end=\"486\">Anja Jesenek Gra\u0161i\u010d<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"492\" data-end=\"507\">Marko Novak<\/strong>, a representative of the company <strong data-start=\"541\" data-end=\"553\">Dewesoft<\/strong>.<\/p><p data-start=\"556\" data-end=\"767\">\u00a0<\/p><p data-start=\"556\" data-end=\"767\">The <strong data-start=\"560\" data-end=\"577\">Solar Village<\/strong> project investigates how passive architectural solutions\u2014especially appropriate <strong data-start=\"658\" data-end=\"680\">shading strategies<\/strong>\u2014can reduce building overheating and consequently lower energy consumption for cooling.<\/p><p data-start=\"769\" data-end=\"980\">\u00a0<\/p><p data-start=\"769\" data-end=\"980\">Globally, energy consumption for cooling is rapidly increasing, while buildings account for approximately <strong data-start=\"875\" data-end=\"917\">40% of total global energy consumption<\/strong>, making efficient solutions in this field extremely important.<\/p><p data-start=\"982\" data-end=\"1026\">\u00a0<\/p><p data-start=\"982\" data-end=\"1026\">Within the project, students participate in:<\/p><ul data-start=\"1028\" data-end=\"1218\"><li data-section-id=\"y37bpi\" data-start=\"1028\" data-end=\"1080\"><p data-start=\"1030\" data-end=\"1080\">assembling experimental building models (cubes),<\/p><\/li><li data-section-id=\"a9qfkb\" data-start=\"1081\" data-end=\"1130\"><p data-start=\"1083\" data-end=\"1130\">installing sensors and measurement equipment,<\/p><\/li><li data-section-id=\"g9x6d9\" data-start=\"1131\" data-end=\"1171\"><p data-start=\"1133\" data-end=\"1171\">monitoring temperature measurements,<\/p><\/li><li data-section-id=\"12534v5\" data-start=\"1172\" data-end=\"1218\"><p data-start=\"1174\" data-end=\"1218\">analysing data and interpreting the results.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"1220\" data-end=\"1560\">\u00a0<\/p><p data-start=\"1220\" data-end=\"1560\">Measurements have shown that <strong data-start=\"1249\" data-end=\"1382\">external shading in summer can reduce the maximum indoor temperature by up to approximately 30\u00b0C compared to an unshaded building<\/strong>, while significantly reducing solar heat gains. In winter, however, solar radiation has a beneficial effect, which makes <strong data-start=\"1504\" data-end=\"1549\">seasonal adaptation of shading strategies<\/strong> important.<\/p><p data-start=\"1562\" data-end=\"1833\">\u00a0<\/p><p data-start=\"1562\" data-end=\"1833\">The project represents an excellent example of cooperation between <strong data-start=\"1629\" data-end=\"1677\">education, industry, and the local community<\/strong>.
